Halloween House

Awhile ago my MIL bought me a few of these:

Now.. I have been looking at them and thinking of what I could do with them.. but then they would kinda get lost in the stash.. and believe me there is some stash to get lost in!

So now that Halloween is here.. I thought it would be the perfect time to get one all done up.

So here it is .. my first paper mache Halloween House!

And here is how I made it!

I started by painting the top, bottom and edges black.

Next I cut out the shapes of the areas I was going to cover with scrapbook paper.

Then I glued the paper onto the house.

Last I added some fun little touches like a windows with a ghost, some scary jack o lanterns, headstones and the night sky with moon and bats!

And here it is on my shoe organizer.

And a few more shots.. cause I really LOVE IT!

Don't know why I didn't try this sooner.. silly me!

Upcycled Window Halloween Style.. and Super Giveaway Alert!

I think I may have mentioned a time or two that I am a complete procrastinator in life.. so yes I am STILL trying to decorate for Halloween!

But before I share my project.. I just want you to know that tomorrow will start the first of 6 giveaways that I have instore for you over the next two weeks to celebrate my 500 followers!

Now onto the decorating!  This time I used this old window

 from my neighbors house to add to the decor.

I just cut out some some spooky shapes like a headstone, owl, tree and bats.

Then I glued them in place in the window.

Next I painted the frame black and added a "spooky" banner and some gravestones.

Last I set it up on my table at the bottom of the stairs.

Halloween Countdown Blocks

My middle guy Love, LOve, LOVES Halloween.. it is his favorite holiday and when October rolls around he asks EVERY day "Mommy, when is Halloween?"   This year.. I have a solution!

Halloween Countdown Blocks.. just for Sean!

I started with these pieces of wood that I cut myself.. I just love my power tools!

Then I painted them orange with a little black distressing.

Next I cut out the pieces for the blocks in black and Halloween Chevron.

And mod podged them to the blocks.

Then I cut out tags, numbers and the words "Days Til Halloween"

And Mod podged them to the blocks.

Then I added a hook with my number tags.

Viola!   A Halloween countdown with removable tags! 

And the countdown begins!

Trick or Treat Blocks

I had some of these laying around the house

and I thought that it would be fun to make into blocks for Halloween.

I checked out pinterest for some inspiration.. but decided to do it my way!

So I took some of the leftover paper from my

Banner

and glued it onto my blocks.

Then I added some fun little details to give my blocks some character.

Last I added them to my mantel with some of my Halloween houses.
