Taking a Break

I will be MIA for the next week.. my family has suffered two huge losses in less then weeks.  I have now lost both of my grandmothers in such a short period of time that I need some time to grieve and just be with my family.

Retro Peace Sign Mirror and a Giveaway Alert!

Hi remember me?  I used to blog here all the time about crafty things but lately I haven't been around much!  Well, today I am here to give you a fun tutorial and tease you about tomorrow's giveaway.. which I am sooo, sooo, sooo excited about!

I made some fun products with MDF shapes that I received from Tony @ Mr Woody

Well, when I received my package it was like Christmas!  I couldn't believe how many fun things he sent me to play with.

My favorite project was one that I made using these:

A fun retro peace sign mirror!

Here is the tutorial on how I made it.. with a mirror and scrapbook paper from my stash!

I started by painting them brown on the back and around the edges.

While my paint dried I cut my paper into a bajillion little scraps.

Then I made some super scrappy peace signs. 

I then distressed them with a little brown paint to give them a bit more of a vintagey feel.

Last I glued my peace signs onto a mirror I picked up at Lowe's on clearance!

Hoo Are You?

Welcome to another exciting Toosday where we get to know each other a little better with

1. Do you sleep with the tv or music on?

I sleep in total soundless darkness... the TV keeps me up.

2. What is your favorite technology device that you own?

I love my Ipod.. keeps me company while I clean and run.

3. Do you shop the ads for groceries?

Nope.  I just shop at the farmer's market and BJ's to keep out grocery bill down.

4. What are you favorite pair of shoes?

My favorite shoes are my running shoes and my red ballet flats.. they dress up any outfit with a little pop of color!

5. Have you done any fun fall activities yet?

Yes.. we did blessing of the animals at our church and got to bring our bunnies into church .. it is the start of the fall season for me!  And of course we have started our fall baking of apple deliciousness!
