Drawing

Have you ever seen an image and just been soo moved by it.. that you felt you had to recreate it?  Well, I saw this heartbreaking photograph

and was soo inspired by its pain and beauty that I just wanted to sketch it.. So I did.. on whatever I could find.. which just happened to be some junk mail ( sadly, I don't have any handy dandy sketch books anymore)

I started with this..

and added more detail and shading.

And complete. 

So simple and yet so powerful.  It was such a wonderful moment of creativity.. and something I think I am going to have experience a little more often.  I am sure that I have tons of pictures of my kids that would be beautiful artwork.

So nice to remind myself that I can draw and how much I really enjoy it!
