October Overhauling - Crayon Roll Apron

Hey Pink Hippos.. have we ever talked about my VERY limited sewing skills or my lack of ability to put things together?
Well, if not.. um .. yeah .. these are some issues that I have and the reason that there are some serious lack of posts that showcase my sewing machine.
BUT today I present to you my faithful followers and favorite cheerleaders my first Personalized Crayon Roll Apron from my fabric stash!
Ta-DA!
My little guy loves it..
he just has a hard time standing still long enough for Mommy to take pictures..
See I had to chase him out to the garage so he could proudly show his Daddy!
Hope he doesn't think that his Daddy is going to let him color the Harley.. oh the horror!
Isn't he sooo stinking adorable?
While I normally love to share tutorials.. I wasn't even sure I could MAKE this one happen so I didn't take any pictures as I made it.. oops!

I used a tea towel to measure the length of material I needed, cut out the arm holes, then I created all of the pieces myself.
Happy Sewing!

Start by painting your bag so that it looks a little distressed.
Next take your fabric labels and cut them out on the Steam a seam.
Place them on your bag.
Use your Cricut to cut out the words "Trick or Treat"
Use your letters to cut out on fabric.
Add your letters.
Iron it on.

Farewell to My Glue Gun

NO, I am NOT giving up crafting or blogging but.. over the weekend a Good friend of mine was laid to rest..
Glouise, my Glue gun.
She was a wonderful glue gun.. look how shiny and new she was tied with a bow!
Here is the first project we worked on together.
She was a lovely glue gun.. I know she didn't MEAN it all those times she slipped or dripped glue and burned my skin til I blistered.
We spent many long hours together
creating beautiful things.
She was like my
crafting partner in crime.
And I am going to miss her
and her trusty napkin holder stand.
But it was either Glouise or the house (cause she came pretty darn close to burning it down.. YIKES!) so Glouise had to go.  She'd been spewing glue for days.
She was a great friend and I am going to miss her..
but I am sure that
Gloubert and I will get along just fine!
We already created our first project together..
a sweet little crown for a mini Prince Charming!

October Overhauling - Photo Jewelry

School Pictures came home yesterday!  And they are Gorgeous..
039_zpsc2cc32f9040_zps66c46035041_zps0e378428
no seriously.. they are the BEST pictures of the kids EVER from school.
Usually the kids make a funny face or forget how to smile naturally when the camera comes out but these are Perfect!

So I thought it would be fun to make something with them.  Now usually I make them into silly things like
Love Bugs,
Leprechauns
or Valentines..
but this time I thought it would be sweet to make a photo bracelet.  And YES it was ALL from my stash.. *sigh*.. I really could own my own craft store.

So I started with this bracelet blank.
Then I cut off the itsy bitsy picture that is used for identification on the picture envelope (BONUS!)
 and Mod Podged them.
Then I added the Mini Hippo's lovely pictures and a little chipboard piece that has a flower and says beauty cause um.. well, there are 4 spaces and 3 kids and I just can't justify a 4th to fill the space!
Last I added a top coat of Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
and walked away for 3 HOURS..
until...
Ta-DA!

And of course, my bracelet couldn't have had the clasp so I added some pink ribbon to tie it.
Now I can show off
my kids
 as arm candy!
Aren't photos fun?
