Pink Hippo Party #48!

Welcome to another exciting edition of The Pink Hippo Party!
I apologize for the lack of comments on all of your fantastic links and projects the past few weeks.
A piece of my heart went to heaven yesterday when my Grandma passed away.   She was an amazing woman who walked this earth for 91 years and who I had the privelege of knowing and loving for the last 32 of those.

Here are our 3 most viewed links this week!
First up is Megan from  http://www.meggipeg.com/ who made this
 beautiful Jersey t-shirt dress!
Then we have Rachel at   who made some amazing designs
 in her sketchbook this week.
Last we have Katie  at http://creativeoutletsofathriftymindedmomma.blogspot.com/  who made these
 fabulous stenciled drop cloth curtains.
Ladies grab your featured button and let's get his party started!

Stashbusted Birthday Gift #2!

Today we got invited to a birthday party by our friend's from church.. and of course it was two hours after the service.  So guess who didn't have a gift?
So we got home and I whipped up this quick gift for Jonah!
I used my plaques, knobs, paint, scrapbook paper and a piece of wood to mount it on.
Hope he loves it.

Stashbusted Birthday Gift

My little guy had a birthday party today for his friend Grace.  Now he has only been in school for 2 weeks so I don't really know her too well.. but I thought that since ALL little girls love their names it would be fun to make her a name sign.  So here it is.. with a quick tutorial!

And yes..  I did happen to have
All of these items in my house.. I happen to be a bit of a craft hoarder!  So I started with the simple ingredients of wood plaques, scrapbook paper, wood letters, ribbon, knobs, mdf shelf and ribbon.
First I started by painting my plaques purple.
Next I painted my letters Pink.
Then I mod podged my plaques with purple scrapbook paper.
Then I glued on my letters.
Last I painted my knobs purple.  Stapled ribbon loops to the back of the plaques and hung them across an mdf shelf.
Viola.. a present and of course a stashbust!  And by the way.. the plaques
have been sitting in a bucket in my craft cabinets for about 2 years!

A Moment of Inspiration

Do you ever find yourself going to check out the same sights all the time?  Well one of my very favorites is Pottery Barn kids.  Now on a normal basis I cannot afford anything that they offer but I just adore all of their kids bedding sets.. right now my favorite is the new boys Bryce Truck bedding.
Bryce Trucks Quilted Bedding
A while back I bought some canvases and I covered one of them with magazine pictures.
Then I painted over it with brown paint and added a scrapbook paper "picture frame".
Then I added my scrapbook truck and decoupaged it on.

Last I added some stars and the work TRUCK.
Once the glue dried it looked like this.
Voila.. inspiration and a finshed project.. finally!
