Another Shoe Re-do: Ombre Bobs

I love these Bobs..
except for the fact that they are WHITE..
or atleast they USED to be!
I am a stay at home Mom to these 3 crazy mini hippos..

which means that I can often be found at the park, on trails, in the dirt and just completely covered in paint (which may or may NOT have anything to do with the kids).. sooo white is just never a good look for ME!
So I painted them and gussied them up a bit...
and you can too!
Start by stuffing your Bobs with paper and taping them with painters tape.
Then grab your colors.
Next paint your first piece and let it dry.
Continue until all of your sections are painted.
If you want to add a little something extra.. grab your glue gun and some lace.
Then try 'em on
and wear 'em out!
They would be super cute with a pair of white capris and a blue tank.
Oh and here are some other shoe re-dos..

Are you like me?  Do you get piles of birthday cards in the mail.. but NEVER reciprocate?

I was given a custom code to make a FREE card to send to someone special from
Cardstore.com  where they have literally TONS of cards to choose from for all occasions for anyone who is anyone special in your life!
I decided to send a card to my dear Sweet Aunt who just turned 97 yesterday.. Now this lovely lady is always soo thoughtful in sending cards for my birthday and for each of my kids birthdays.. so I thought that we should send her something special.
I started by picking this card..
 Bright Flowers 7x5 Folded Card
that had a sweet sentiment..
Then I added this cute picture of my youngest holding a BIG bouquet of flowers
'cause who could resist THAT sweet face?
Then to the interior I added this cute pic of the kids
and a personal message from us!
It was soo easy.. it took about 4 minutes total for me to create and order my card.
Cardstore.com offers Tons of discounts and FREE shipping and all in the comfort of your home!
Why not give it a try and surprise someone you love with a card..
Don't forget Mother's Day is coming soon and I bet YOUR mother would LOVE a card!

"Lucky" It's Spring Wreath

As I may have mentioned .. I am just loving upcycling my stuff this month in honor of Earth Day!  So here is another upcycled project..
my "Lucky" It's Spring Wreath~
Pin It
Now, I call it my "lucky" wreath because I made it from THIS
To make it I started by cutting off the lucky banner. and leaving the flowers and ribbon intact.
Next I grabbed some fabric that had butterflies on it and cut out a whole bunch of 'em.
Then I stuck them to some doubled sided steam a seam with yellow fabric on the back.
Then I ironed them together.
Cut them all out.. again.
Then I hot glued each butterfly onto the wreath
until it looked happy and springy.
And viola a completely revamped spring themed wreath!
I know it's late to start decorating for spring.. but hey, I have until June 21st to get it done!

Personalized Upcycled Rocking Chair

My neighbor and I LOVE going to garage sales together and finding fun stuff to repurpose.
Last spring we found this OLD rocking chair that had LOTS of potential.. so she bought it!
Well after some paint and a little vinyl personalizing I am proud to say it looks like THIS~
Pin It
Want to see how I fixed it all up nice and purdy??  Here it is!
Ingredients
Spray paint
Fabric
Batting
Acrylic paint
Pick Your Plum Vinyl
I started by taking the seat off the chair and spray painting it pink.
While the paint was drying I took the seat cover apart so that all I had left was the base.
Then I hot glued some batting onto it
so it has some cushion.
Next I cut my fabric so that it would fit over the top of the cushion nice and snug.
And again I hot glued it into place..
so it looked pretty!
I also covered a piece of cardboard with the fabric
and glued it to the bottom
so that it would cover the old yucky piece of wood.
Viola.. ready for sitting on~
Then I came back to the chair.
I didn't like the pink color.. I thought it was a bit too soft.  So I repainted it a shade darker.
Then I painted the flower at the top to match the fabric on the seat cover.
Then I used my Cricut and cut out Grace in tan Pick Your Plum vinyl.
Then I added it to the bottom.
Last I added the seat.
Now Gracie has a fun rocking chair to sit on the porch for the summer.
It all matches all of the other fun projects I made for Grace~
Her Name Sign
notice the white paper matches the seat cover.
And her Step Stool
Don't you just love making something NEW again!  I know I do.
