Cork board.. For Real!

I know that sometimes.. if there is a link to a post somewhere else.. I may NOT go there!  Sorry.. but true.. so here is my upcycled corkboard for those of you who missed it!
Awhile ago my hubby Mr. Pinkapotamus as I lovingly refer to him as salvaged this cork board from the garbage pile at his work.
Yesterday at Walmart I found some really fabulous black and white fabric in the scrap pile for a whopping $4 and knew that it was destined for the cork board.
This morning I took the board and painted its lovely brown frame black.
Then I added the fabric to the cork board with some craft glue.  I worked in sections so that it came out even.

This is how it looked all glued into place and pretty!

Next I added a border of polka dot ribbon in the interior.

Last I made a big paper flower to go on the corner and added some of my kids beautiful artwork!

And here is a close up of my scrappy flower just for fun!  I think it may detract from the board.. so I may just take it off.

Hooray.. another item saved from destruction and turned into a beautiful useful item for my home!
